Many of us spend our lives doing activities in precisely the same way day after day. We get the job done just fine. That's great, until a time comes when we want to do something different. It's then we realize our repetitive habits overlooked training our body for all possible moves. Our body is amazingly resourceful. It conserves energy for tasks we need to do. Don't do an activity often? The body puts those skills aside to focus on the activities we do. Activities we do more often (frequency) and what we more of (duration) get the most resources.
While there are no wrong or bad moves, when we only do a small subset of all we are capable of doing, we risk aches and injuries becoming more prevalent. Luckily, the body is amazingly adaptive. With Restorative Exercise (RE), we can build strength in bones, power in muscles, and ranges of motion in joints to do what we want to do, no matter our current fitness, age and abilities.
RE is based on alignment principles from biomechanics and exercise science, and put into exercises in everyday language and use. RE teaches us the ways our movement habits can foster the body's natural skills to move well through all of our activities.
This RE 3 Pack includes classes prerecorded from live sessions. This is a great way to get a taste of RE, as a short class session and as a way of creating movement habits for better well-being.
Take these classes if you have osteoporosis, low back pain, hip pain, pelvic floor issues, or pain when walking. The classes allow for slow transitions from floor to standing on your own, or with support of a chair or wall. All fitness levels will benefit from the movement concepts and exercises in these classes as we all want to live in a more resilient, pain-free body.
